Continuing its streak of success, Abdul Kadir Molla City College in Narsingdi has once again achieved some of the best results in the country. According to the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination results published by the Dhaka Education Board on Saturday (October 31), 1,551 out of 1,552 students from the institution passed the examination. Among them, 561 students secured a GPA-5, resulting in a pass rate of 99.94%.
College authorities stated that a total of 1,552 students participated in this year’s HSC examinations. One student fell ill after appearing for seven papers and was unable to complete the remaining examinations, which led to that student failing. Of the 561 students who achieved a GPA-5, 394 were from the Science group (out of 1,058 participants). In the Business Studies group, all 180 students passed, with 69 securing a GPA-5; similarly, in the Humanities group, all 311 students passed, with 98 achieving a GPA-5.
Bithi Roy, a student from the Science group, shared, “I felt quite anxious once I heard the results were about to be released. However, I was confident that my classmates and I would perform well. This success is the result of the constant monitoring and tireless efforts of our teachers and parents.”
College Principal Herem Ullah Ahsan remarked, “We have done our absolute best. Under the direct guidance of our Governing Body Chairman, Abdul Kadir Molla, we worked diligently alongside the students—conducting regular and special classes, home visits, tutorials, and monthly examinations, while ensuring continuous supervision through dedicated ‘guide teachers.’ Unfortunately, one student fell ill during the examination period and could not complete the tests, which is why we missed achieving a 100% pass rate.” Abdul Kadir Molla, the founder of the college and president of its governing body, stated, “First and foremost, I express my gratitude to Allah. This is an achievement for the people of Narsingdi.”
Notably, since its establishment in 2006, the institution has achieved remarkable results: a 99% pass rate in its first examination year (2008); a 100% pass rate in 2009, securing 5th place under the Dhaka Board and 6th place nationwide; 4th place under the Dhaka Board in 2010 (with a 100% pass rate); 7th place under the Dhaka Board in 2011; and 2nd place—both under the Dhaka Board and nationwide—in 2012, 2013, and 2014, with a 100% pass rate in each of those years.
