Staff Reporter: Harirampur Dustho Mahila Bohumukhi Sangstha (Harirampur Destitute Women’s Multipurpose Organization) and Human Rights Alive have launched a humanitarian and eco-friendly initiative to protect the environment, tackle the adverse effects of climate change, and stand beside helpless and underprivileged people.
The main goals of this joint program are to maintain environmental balance through tree plantation, raise climate awareness, and play an effective role in improving the living standards of the society’s helpless people. Present at the event were Human Rights Alive adviser “Md. Masum Sajjad” and Human Rights Alive member “Samin Yasar.”
On this occasion, Mr. Masum Sajjad, adviser to Human Rights Alive, said: “Climate change is one of the most important global crises in the world today. Rising temperatures, irregular rainfall, floods, droughts, and natural disasters are continually disrupting people’s normal lives. In this situation, tree plantation and environmental conservation have become extremely important.
Trees not only supply us with oxygen; they also reduce air pollution, absorb carbon dioxide, prevent soil erosion, and play a vital role in maintaining the balance of the natural environment.” The organizers believe that if fruit, timber, and medicinal trees can be planted in a planned manner and properly cared for, it will be possible to protect the environment while also building a green, safe, and livable world for future generations.
With the aim of turning tree plantation into a social movement, they called on the general public, students, youth, and various social organizations to come forward. At the same time, as a key part of the joint initiative, special emphasis was placed on standing beside helpless, poor, underprivileged, and distressed people.
The need for collective effort in serving humanity, protecting human dignity, reducing social inequality, and establishing people’s fundamental rights was highlighted. According to the organizers, true development is possible only when, alongside environmental protection, positive change also comes into the lives of the society’s disadvantaged people.
The joint initiative of Harirampur Dustho Mahila Bohumukhi Sangstha and Human Rights Alive is a shining example of commitment to the environment and humanity. It is hoped that such activities will further strengthen environmental awareness, humanitarian values, social harmony, and the spirit of service in society.
Organizers’ Expectations: “A tree is a symbol of life, and a humanitarian initiative is the strength to build a beautiful society. We want a green, beautiful, discrimination-free, and humane Bangladesh to emerge through tree plantation and service to humanity.” The organizers have sought the sincere cooperation and participation of all concerned in realizing this pledge to protect the environment and serve humanity.
